Equinor has let an engineering, procurement, construction, and installation contract to TechnipFMC for Breidablikk pipelay, including an option for the subsea installation scope in the area close to Grane field, North Sea.

Equinor has let an engineering, procurement, construction, and installation contract to TechnipFMC for Breidablikk pipelay, including an option for the subsea installation scope in the area close to Grane field, North Sea.

The Breidablikk project, subject to final approval by Norwegian authorities, is a tie-back to the existing Grane platform. TechnipFMC’s scope includes provision of flexible jumpers and rigid pipelines as well as pipeline installation work. The contract is valued by the service company at $75-250 million.

In early October, the operator issued a letter of intent to Odfjell Drilling for 15 oil field wells following submittal of a plan for development and operation the field, which is expected to be developed with four subsea templates, each with six slots (OGJ Online, Sept. 28, 2020; Oct. 5, 2020) . The plan calls for 23 production wells, and oil will be processed and exported via Grane to the Sture terminal in Hordaland county.
