IOC lets contract for North Sea gas development project

Independent Oil and & Gas PLC has let a contract to LOC Group to provide marine warranty surveyor (MWS) services its Phase 1 UK Southern North Sea (SNS) gas development project.

Independent Oil and & Gas PLC has let a contract to LOC Group to provide marine warranty surveyor (MWS) services its Phase 1 UK Southern North Sea (SNS) gas development project.

Phase 1 comprises the development and production of Southwark, Blythe, and Elgood fields through five wells, with gas transported onshore via the Thames pipeline. Final investment decision was taken in October 2019 and development is scheduled to come into production in third-quarter 2021.

LOC will provide MWS services for the marine transportation and installation operations of the Blythe and Southwark platforms and related pipelines and subsea facilities. Work will mainly be carried out by the group’s London office, with support from LOC’s European subsidiaries and specialist capabilities from the Aberdeen and Longitude Engineering offices.  

IOG operator of the fields with 50% interest. CalEnergy Resources (UK) Ltd. holds the remaining interest.
