FAR Gambia lets 3D seismic contract to Shearwater GeoServices

FAR Gambia Ltd. has let a contract to Shearwater GeoServices Holding AS for a 3D Isometrix seismic acquisition project covering parts of Block A1 offshore Gambia in the Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Conakry (MSGBC) basin.

Data for the one-month survey will be acquired by the SW Amundsen and will provide new seismic over a shallow-water area and connect with existing seismic.

In 2017, FAR acquired an 80% working interest and operatorship in two offshore Blocks – A2 and A5 – offshore Gambia, on trend with and adjacent to FAR’s Senegal blocks encompassing Sangmoar field (OGJ Online, Oct. 1, 2017).

Blocks A2 and A5 have been independently assessed to contain prospective resources on a best estimate basis of more than 1 billion bbl of oil.
