PRIO has taken over operatorship of Peregrino field following completion of a deal to acquire a 40% operated interest in offshore Brazil asset from Equinor.

Production at Peregrino FPSO resumed mid-October following authorization from Brazil’s National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Biofuels (ANP) after having been shut down by the regulator in August to allow for needed improvements to risk management and asset documentation and adjustments to the deluge system.

Peregrino lies in Campos basin 85 km east of Rio de Janeiro in 120 m water. The field has 27 producer wells and 6 injector wells operating. Production is carried out through an FPSO processing capacity of 110,000 b/d of oil and 300,000 b/d of water. It currently produces an average of 100,000 b/d. Estimated reserves as of 2024 are 106 million bbl.
