A second production well completed from the wellhead platform installed during second-phase development of Yury Korchagin oil field flowed at an initial rate of 600 tonnes/day of crude oil, reports Lukoil (OGJ Online, July 25, 2018).
The horizontal was drilled to 2,736 m MD in the eastern part of the field in the Caspian Seaoffshore Russia. An intelligent completion system used for the first time allows real-time control of valves in the well’s lateral, Lukoil said.
Work has begun on the third well to be drilled from the platform.
