Petrobras lets contract for drill pipe riser systems

Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) has awarded a contract to Oceaneering International Inc. subsidiary Marine Production Systems do Brasil Ltda. for intervention and completion operations in Brazil.

The $50 million, 4-year contract with a 1-year optional extension calls for Oceaneering to supply and operate three drill pipe riser systems with installation workover control systems, along with project management, engineering, and support services. The company plans to manufacture the associated umbilicals for the systems at its facility in Niteroi, Brazil.

Asset construction will begin in this year’s third quarter. Contract work will begin in third-quarter 2019.
