OMV Petrom begins Black Sea drilling campaign

OMV Petrom started a new offshore drilling campaign in shallow waters of Istria block in the Black Sea. First drilling operations started at end of December 2020, and drilling of the second well will start at the beginning of this year.

The two development wells are being drilled at depths of over 2,500 m below the seabed, in waters with a depth of around 60 m. The investment for this campaign is about 32 million euros.

Oil and gas production in Istria block amounts to about 25,000 boe/d.
