Petrogas E&P Netherlands BV has awarded a three-well contract to Maersk Drilling’s Resilient jackup rig for work at A12 and B13 gas fields in the Dutch sector of the North Sea, 280 km north of Den Helder.

The contract is expected to begin in November 2020, has an estimated duration of 110 days, and is valued at about $9.4 million. Additionally, Maersk Drilling will be given exclusive options to work on a selected number of Petrogas’s planned 2021-2022 projects in the Dutch sector.

Maersk Resilient is currently mobilizing for the Petrogas campaign and then will work for Serica Energy UK Ltd.

Separately, the previously announced one-well contract with Petrogas North Sea Ltd. for drilling at UK North Sea Birgitta field will be cancelled. Maersk will receive a termination fee and retains an exclusive option to drill the well in 2021 at rates reflecting the expected 2021 market.

Petrogas is operator at A and B fields (23.5%-34.1%) with partners TAQA Offshore BV, Dyas BV, Dana and Oranje Nassau Energie Nederland BV.
