Zion to spud new well in Megiddo-Jezreel, onshore Israel

Zion Oil & Gas Inc. will drill Megiddo-Jezreel #2 in Megiddo-Jezreel license 401, onshore Israel, after obtaining approval from the Israel Ministry of Energy on July 29. Drilling will commence in in this year’s third quarter 2020, and it should take about 5 months from spud to target depth.

Civil work on the pad location starts in mid-August with construction of the cellar and setting of conductor pipe. Zion’s drilling rig is ready to ship from Constanta, Romania to Haifa, Israel with estimated 5-7 days transit time. Other required items such as wellhead, casing, and drill bits have been procured, many of which are shipping out of Houston, Tex.

Zion has exclusive rights to oil and gas development in the 99,000-acre Megiddo-Jezreel license area.
