Aker BP to drill North Sea appraisals and wildcat

Aker BP ASA received a drilling permit for appraisal wells 25/2-23 A and 25/2-23 B, and wildcat well 25/2-23 C, in production license (PL) 873 from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate.

Aker BP ASA received a drilling permit for appraisal wells 25/2-23 A and 25/2-23 B, and wildcat well 25/2-23 C, in production license (PL) 873 from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate. The area in this license consists of parts of Blocks 25/1, 25/2, and 30/11 in the North Sea, about 180 km from Bergen.

The wells will be drilled from the Odfjell Drilling-owned Deepsea Nordkapp drilling rig.

Aker BP is operator of PL 873 (40%) with partners Equinor Energy AS (40%) and Lotos Exploration and Production Norge AS (20%).
