Wellesley granted Norwegian Sea drilling permit

Wellesley Petroleum AS has been granted a permit by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate to drill an exploration well in the Norwegian Sea.

Well 6204/11-3, the first on license 829, will be drilled from the Borgland Dolphin drilling rig about 65 km north-northeast of the Peon discovery and about 100 km southwest of Ålesund. The rig is currently at the shipyard in Kvinesdal.

The area in the license consists of parts of Blocks 6204/7, 8, 10, and 11.

Wellesley Petroleum is operator with 60% interest. Partners are Equinor Energy and Petoro AS, each with 20%.
