SDX Energy PLC, London, has started a 12-well drilling program covering three concession areas in Morocco.
The first seven holes will be appraisal wells in the producing Sebou and Gharb Center areas targeting prospects near infrastructure (OGJ Online, Sept. 21, 2017).
Two later wells will be step-out exploration wells in the previously untested northern area of Gharb Center.
The program’s last three wells will be higher-risk exploration holes targeting large prospects in deeper, unproven horizons in the Lalla Mimouna Nord concession area.
SDX expects the campaign to be complete in the first quarter next year.
It targets yearend gross production from the five concessions it operates in Morocco of 9-11 MMscfd. It holds a 75% working interest in each.
