Faroe farms in to Agar-Plantain drilling

Faroe Petroleum, Aberdeen, has farmed in to the Agar-Plantain exploration and appraisal well in the UK North Sea operated by Azinor Catalyst Ltd., acquiring a 25% interest from the operator.

Faroe said the Transocean Leader semisubmersible this month will spud a well that will explore the Plantain prospect with a contingent sidetrack to appraise Agar oil field, a 2014 discovery (OGJ Online, June 14, 2018).

Azinor Catalyst now holds 25% in the sole-risk well. Cairn Energy PLC recently farmed in to the project for a 50% interest.

New interests in the P1763 license are Apache Corp., the operator, 50%; Cairn Energy, 25%; and Faroe and Catalyst, 12.5% each.
