Fire hits crude unit at Richmond refinery

Fire broke out in a crude unit at Chevron Corp.’s 257,000-b/d Richmond, Calif., refinery on Aug. 6 and was contained within about 3 hr.

Fire broke out in a crude unit at Chevron Corp.’s 257,000-b/d Richmond, Calif., refinery on Aug. 6 and was contained within about 3 hr.

The company reported the fire extinguished by the morning of Aug. 7. Three workers sustained minor injuries.

Cause of the fire was not immediately known.
