May 14, 2024
Tanzania Petroleum Development Corp. has acquired land required for a planned 35-km natural gas pipeline from Ntorya, Tanzania, to its Madimba gas processing plant.

Tanzania Petroleum Development Corp. (TPDC) has acquired all the land required for a planned 35-km natural gas pipeline from Ntorya, Tanzania, to TPDC’s 210-MMcfd Madimba gas processing plant. It has also completed all front-end engineering and design for the project, which will connect resources being developed by Aminex PLC and ARA Petroleum Tanzania Ltd. to market.

TPDC is in the process of completing the pipeline’s environmental impact study and expects to issue a tender for its construction in July 2024 to ship first gas by mid-2025.

Aminex and ARA last year approved the field development plan for the Ntorya discovery, which contains 1.8 tcf of gas proven by two wells which produced 20 MMscfd each during testing (OGJ Online, July 12, 2023).
