Total lets Laggan-Tormore pipeline contract

HOUSTON, Oct. 1 -- Total E&P UK Ltd. let a contract valued at more than $250 million to Subsea 7 Inc. for work on pipelines and umbilicals in its development of Laggan and Tormore deepwater gas fields west of the Shetland Islands in the UK North Sea.
Subsea 7 will handle engineering, fabrication, and installation of 141 km of 8-in. and 2-in. piggy-backed service pipelines and engineering, supply, and installation of 124-km and 17-km control umbilicals and associated subsea structures and tie-ins.
The fields are in 600 m of water about 140 km off the Shetland Islands, where Total is building a gas processing at Sullom Voe to handle Laggan-Tormore production (OGJ, Mar. 22, 2010, Newsletter).
Total, with 80% interest, expects production to peak at 93,000 boe/d of gas and concensate. DONG E&P (UK) Ltd. holds 20%.
