Telvent to integrate Pemex's entire pipeline network

HOUSTON, Mar. 16 -- Telvent announced Mar. 15 the signing of new contract with Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex) to install its OASyS supervision, control, and data acquisition system (SCADA) to manage seven multiproduct pipelines of Pemex Refinancion’s National Oil Pipeline Network.

Pemex says it seeks to increase efficiency and productivity through centralized management of its entire gas and oil transportation pipeline network through the agreement. Once complete the project will unify SCADA for Pemex National Transport Network in one system, incorporating the current Telvent infrastructure managing Pemex Gas y Petroquimica’s 12,400-km natural gas and LPG pipeline network.

Pemex says the new system will redundantly and accurately centralize the real time control of operations data such as pressure, temperature, and composition from geographically dispersed transport, storage, and distribution facilities.

Telvent has operated in Mexico’s hydrocarbon operation, production, transportation, and distribution segments since 1990 and signed a contract to update and integrate SCADA on Gas Natural México SA de CV’s 15,229-km gas distribution network in January 2009.
