ECA tests demand for expanded Marcellus gathering

Energy Corp. of America (ECA) announced a nonbinding open season to assess interest in increased receipt capacity of as much as 48.5 MMcfd at its System 8000 gathering pipeline serving the Marcellus shale in north-central West Virginia.

HOUSTON, June 16
-- Energy Corp. of America (ECA) announced a nonbinding open season to assess interest in increased receipt capacity of as much as 48.5 MMcfd at its System 8000 gathering pipeline serving the Marcellus shale in north-central West Virginia.

Any newly subscribed capacity would be delivered to Columbia Gas Transmission LLC’s WB line as early as Dec. 31, 2010.

Final capacity expansion will depend on bids received during the open season, which runs June 22-July 5.
