MarkWest West Virginia NGL line back in service by mid-October

MarkWest Energy Partners LP continues to work on repairing an NGL pipeline it owns and operates in a remote area of northern Wetzel County, W.Va., and expects to return both it and its 320-MMcfd Mobley I and II gas processing plants to service in mid-October.

An August landslide caused by erosion and run-off from heavy rainfall broke the pipeline. MarkWest immediately shut down the pipeline and began remediation and repair of the affected segment.

The company’s Sherwood processing plant continues to operate at curtailed levels as a result of the pipeline outage, with its NGLs being transported by truck for fractionation and sale.

MarkWest started processing operations at Mobley in December 2012, bringing an initial 200 MMcfd of capacity online. The company plans to have 520 MMcfd operational by yearend (OGJ Online, Dec. 14, 2012) when Mobley III comes online, and repairs have not delayed this timetable.
