THAILAND'S PTT PLANS REVAMP OF SRI RACHA OIL TERMINAL
Petroleum Authority of Thailand (PTT) plans a major revamp of its biggest oil terminal.
PTT let a $480,000 contract to Germany's Dorsch Consult Ing. GmbH (DCI) for engineering consulting services on the project to expand receiving and storage capacity of Sri Racha oil terminal in Chon Buri province of Thailand's eastern coast.
The project entails modifying the existing crude pipeline to the terminal to handle crude and fuel oil, revamping the crude oil loading facility to handle fuel oil, boosting the terminal's capacity to accommodate 80,000 dwt tankers, constructing four 60 million I. tanks, and installing an automatic tank gauging system.
DCI has 9 months to complete designs, prepare bid documents, and help select a contractor. Construction is expected to take 12 months, with start-up scheduled for sometime in 1992.
