Gazprom to shut Nord Stream 1 pipeline supplies to Europe for 3 days

Russia will halt gas supplies into Europe for 3 days beginning next week, Gazprom said via Twitter Aug. 19.

Russia will halt gas supplies into Europe for 3 days via its main pipeline into the region, Gazprom said via Twitter Aug. 19.

Gazprom said the shutdown of supplies from the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, scheduled to run Aug. 31-Sept. 2, is due to maintenance on the pipeline's only remaining gas compressor.

Gazprom, via Twitter, said “upon completion of maintenance operations, provided no malfunctions are identified, gas transmission will be resumed at the rate of 33 million cu m/d.”

The shutdown follows a 10-day maintenance curtailment in July on top of supply reductions and heightened concerns over whether Russia will resume supplies.
