Commonwealth LNG awards EPC work to Technip

The contract covers the delivery of six identical liquefaction trains using Technip’s SnapLNG by T.EN modular and scalable solution.

Commonwealth LNG, a Kimmeridge company, has awarded Technip Energies an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for its 9.5 million tonne/year (tpy) LNG plant in Cameron Parish, La. The contract covers the delivery of six identical liquefaction trains using Technip’s SnapLNG by T.EN modular and scalable solution.

The award follows successful completion of front-end engineering and design by Technip and is pending final investment decision (FID) by Commonwealth LNG. On this basis, it will not be included in Technip’s backlog until FID or full notice to proceed is achieved.

Commonwealth LNG will also include five 50,000-cu m storage tanks and will be able accommodate vessels as large as 216,000 cu m. The company plans to start production first-quarter 2029, pending third-quarter 2025 FID.

Commonwealth has signed multiple offtake agreements for the plant’s production, most recently confirming a 20-year, 1-million tpy deal Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas)(OGJ Online, June 17, 2025).
