Woodside has signed an agreement with bp plc for the integrated energy major to supply natural gas to the newly sanctioned, three-train, 16.5 million tonne/year (tpy) Louisiana LNG development (OGJ Online, Apr. 29, 2025).
The agreement, which represents the first tranche of a diversified portfolio of feedgas to support the project, calls for Louisiana LNG Gas Management LLC (GasCo), a wholly owned subsidiary of Louisiana LNG LLC, purchase up to 640 bcf of gas from bp for an ultimate delivery to Line 200 beginning in 2029.
The duration was unspecified, but Woodside, in a release Apr. 30, said the company is committed to purchase gas on a “long-term” basis.
Woodside said GasCo will be responsible for implementing the gas sourcing strategy to support the Louisiana LNG project.
