Venture Global raises second Plaquemines LNG storage roof

Venture Global LNG has raised the roof of the second 200,000-cu m LNG storage tank at its 20-million tpy Plaquemines LNG in Plaquemines Parish, La. The first tank’s roof was raised 7 weeks ago.

Venture Global LNG Inc. has raised the roof of the second 200,000-cu m LNG storage tank at its 20-million tonne/year (tpy) Plaquemines LNG in Plaquemines Parish, La. The first tank’s roof was raised 7 weeks ago.

Each tank will have an inner tank made of 9% nickel alloy and a concrete outer wall and outer roof to provide full LNG containment.

Venture Global last month took final investment decision on Plaquemines LNG Phase 2 and issued a full notice to continue with construction to contractors KZJV LLC, a joint venture of Zachary Group and KBR Inc. (OGJ Online, Mar. 14, 2023).
