Atlantic Gulf and Pacific Co. of Manila Inc. (AG&P) awarded McDermott International Ltd. business unit CB&I Storage Solutions a contract for the engineering, procurement, and construction of an LNG storage tank for AG&P's 3-million tonne/year Philippines LNG (PLNG) regasification terminal, currently under construction in Batangas City, Philippines.

CB&I Storage Solutions will provide the first of two 60,000-cu m full containment steel LNG tanks along with geotechnical investigation, soil improvement, foundation and topside platform structure, pre-commissioning, purging, and commissioning. Mechanical completion is slated for third-quarter 2023 with purging and commissioning activities to follow.

AG&P in March 2021 was issued a notice to proceed with the project by the Philippines’ Department of Energy.

FGEN LNG Corp. earlier this month leased a BW Gas Ltd. floating storage and regasification unit for its terminal project, also located in Batangas (OGJ Online, Apr. 5, 2021).
