HOUSTON, Aug. 20 – Canacol Energy Ltd., Calgary, said the Ubaque reservoir at its RH-6 development well in Rancho Hermoso field in Colombia’s Llanos basin tested at 3,340 b/d of 17° gravity oil and 104 b/d of water from perforations at 10,524-550 ft measured depth on electric submersible pump.
RH-6 cut 115 ft of net oil pay in five reservoir intervals, Ubaque, Guadalupe, Los Cuervos-Barco, Mirador, and C7. The Ubaque, Guadalupe, and Los Cuervos-Barco reservoirs are to be tested separately before the well is placed on long term production. Meanwhile, RH-7 is drilling at 5,700 ft enroute to 10,213 ft measured depth.
The Guadalupe reservoir at the RH-5 well 1,700 ft southwest of RH-6 well tested 3,994 b/d of 33° gravity oil, natural, in December 2009. A thinner sequence of Los Cuervos-Barco at RH-5 tested 4,434 b/d of 36° gravity oil, natural.
