QatarEnergy LNG names new CEO
QatarEnergy LNG has named Ahmad Helal Al-Muhannadi as chief executive officer of the company, effective Jan. 1, 2026. He will succeed Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Thani, who will be retiring at end-2025.
Al-Muhannadi’s 25-year career has stretched across Ras Gas, Qatargas, and QatarEnergy LNG, where he served as chief onshore operations and support officer upon the integration of Qatargas and Ras Gas, QatarEnergy said in a release Dec. 15.
Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Thani joined QatarEnergy in 1991 (then Qatar Petroleum), where he held several positions including business development manager of Mesaieed Industrial City, and director of Ras Laffan Industrial City. He was appointed as Qatargas chief executive officer in 2010, where he led the integration of Qatargas and Ras Gas and later the transformation into QatarEnergy LNG.
