EOG Resources Inc. has named Ezra Y. Yacob, the company’s chief executive officer, as chairman of the board, effective Oct. 4, following the retirement of William R. Thomas as board chair.
EOG Resources Inc. has named Ezra Y. Yacob, the company’s chief executive officer, as chairman of the board, effective Oct. 4, following the retirement of William R. Thomas as board chair.
Thomas had served as EOG's non-executive chairman of the board since October 2021. Following several technical and leadership roles in his more than 43-year career with EOG, he’d served as chairman of the board and chief executive officer of the company from 2014 to 2021.
Yacob has served as chief executive officer since October 2021 and previously served as president; executive vice-president, exploration and production; vice-president and general manager of EOG's Midland, Tex. office; and in various other geoscience and leadership positions since joining EOG in August 2005.
