Murphy Oil taps Mireles to succeed Looney as EVP, CFO

Murphy Oil Corp., Houston, has elected Thomas Mireles to succeed David R. Looney as executive-vice president and chief financial officer upon Looney’s planned retirement June 30.

Murphy Oil Corp., Houston, has elected Thomas Mireles to succeed David R. Looney as executive-vice president and chief financial officer upon Looney’s planned retirement June 30.

Mireles will assume Looney’s responsibilities, as well as maintain oversight of the company’s sustainability function. Mireles joined Murphy Oil in 2005 and currently serves as senior vice-president, technical services.

Looney joined Murphy in 2018 (OGJ Online, Feb. 22, 2018).
