Vår Energi lets EPCI contract for Goliat field work offshore Norway

Vår Energi has let a contract to Subsea 7 SA for the Goliat Gas Export project in the Barents Sea, offshore Norway.

The project will enable the export of gas from Goliat field to the Equinor-operated Hammerfest LNG plant (Melkøya) through the existing Snøhvit pipeline system.

The scope of work includes engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) of a 12.7-km, 10-in. OD uninsulated carbon steel pipeline, along with the installation of associated subsea infrastructure required to tie in the gas export system.

Project management and engineering activities will begin immediately from Subsea7’s office in Stavanger, Norway. Offshore operations are scheduled to take place during 2027–2028.

The service provider values the contract at $150-300 million.
