Sonangol extends contract for Quenguela drillship

The extension includes a seven-well option at a fixed price, ensuring continued ultra-deepwater drilling operations and committing the rig into mid-2028.

Sonangol EP has let a contract extension to Sonadrill Holding Ltd. for the Sonangol Quenguela drillship for work offshore Angola.

A seven-well priced option for the ultra-deepwater drillship has been exercised, extending operations by about 480 days and committing the rig into June 2028.

Sonadrill Holding is a 50-50 joint venture with Sonangol affiliate Empresa de Servicos e Sondagens de Angola Ltda.
