Sept. 26, 2013

The US Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement extended the public comment period on its proposed offshore safety requirements by 45 days. Comments now will be accepted through Dec. 5, BSEE announced.

The proposed rule would revise a section of the existing offshore safety requirements that has not changed significantly since it was first published in 1988, BSEE said.

The proposal would ensure that uses of subsea trees and other technologies which have become prevalent since then are regulated appropriately, BSEE said.
