MARKET WATCH: NYMEX, Brent crude oil prices up

Crude oil futures prices climbed in New York and London at the start of the week.

The light, sweet crude contract for December on the New York Mercantile Exchange was up 34¢ to $56.54/bbl on Nov. 4. The January contract also rose, settling up 33¢ to $56.60/bbl.

The NYMEX natural gas price for December gained 10.7¢ to a rounded $2.82/MMbtu. The January contract was up 9.6¢ to a rounded $2.90/MMbtu.

Ultralow-sulfur diesel for December increased a fraction of a penny to $1.94/gal. The NYMEX reformulated gasoline blendstock for December gained nearly a cent to a rounded $1.66/gal.

Brent crude oil for January was up 44¢ to $62.13/bbl on London’s International Commodity Exchange. The February contract gained 38¢ to $61.35/bbl.

The gas oil contract for November was $594/tonne on Nov. 4, up $16.

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries’ basket of crudes for Nov. 4 was $62/bbl, up $1.81 from Nov. 1.
