Petro Resources Corp. has hired James W. Denny, III as executive vice president and COO. Prior to joining Petro Resources, Denny served as president and CEO of Gulf Energy Management Co., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Harken Energy Corp., from January 2002 until October 2007.
EnDevCo appoints new CFO
EnDevCo Inc. has named Joseph Lessard as CFO and vice president Americas. He previously served as vice president, Americas for Globeleq. Prior to Globeleq, Lessard jointly formed Hart Energy International LP, with two other principals. Lessard holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University.
Penn West restructures senior management team
Penn West Energy Trust has made changes to its senior management team. Murray R. Nunns has joined Penn West as president and COO. Nunns will report to William E. Andrew, Penn West’s CEO. Reporting to Nunns will be David W. Middleton, who has held a number of senior management positions with Penn West since 1999, and will continue in a more concentrated role with Penn West as executive vice president, operations and business development. Todd Takeyasu, previously Penn West’s senior vice president, finance - treasury, has been appointed executive vice president and CFO, also reporting to Nunns. In addition, Sherry A. Wendt, previously corporate counsel and assistant corporate secretary for Penn West, has been appointed corporate secretary. Wendt received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Manitoba and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Calgary. Before joining Penn West in 2007, she practiced with the law firm of Bennett Jones LLP. J. Paul Charron and Richard J. Tiede have resigned from their employment with Penn West.
Trident gives Withey executive status
The board of directors of Trident Resources Corp. and Trident Exploration Corp. have hired Alan Withey as CFO. Withey brings over 16 years of industry experience to Trident previously working with Devon Energy Corp., Pioneer Natural Resources Canada, and most recently with Ironhorse Oil & Gas Inc. Over the past 6 years, Alan has held the CFO position in two junior public oil and gas companies in Canada.
Constellation Energy Partners taps Stephen Brunner as COO
Constellation Energy Partners, a limited liability company focused on the acquisition, development, and production of oil and natural gas properties, has appointed Stephen R. Brunner as COO. He has more than 25 years of experience in the industry, and previously served as the executive vice president of operations for Pogo Producing Co. During his 13-year tenure at Pogo, Brunner served as vice president of operations. He also served as the resident manager of Thaipo Ltd., a subsidiary of Pogo, as well as offshore operations manager. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana Tech University.
Bracewell elects Evans as new managing partner
Bracewell & Giuliani LLP has elected Mark C. Evans as the firm’s seventh managing partner. Evans has over 30 years of experience representing national and international commercial banks and other lenders. He joined the firm in 1977. Evans’ predecessor Patrick Oxford, who has served as the firm’s managing partner since 2001 will assume the role of chairman. Partners Carrin F. Patman and Clark G. Thompson, Jr. have been elected to serve a 3-year term on the firm’s management committee. Partner Paul W. Fox will serve the remainder of Evans’ 1-year term on the management committee.
Superior Energy taps Masters VP, general counsel
Superior Energy Services Inc. has named William B. Masters executive vice president and general counsel. Masters joins Superior following a 26-year career with the law firm of Jones, Walker, Waechter, Poitevent, Carrere & Denegre LLP. During his tenure, Masters worked with Superior as general counsel for 13 years. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Tulane University and his Juris Doctorate degree from George Washington University. Superior Energy Services Inc. is a diversified provider of specialized oilfield services and equipment.
Questar makes executive promotions
Questar Corp. has promoted Charles B. Stanley to COO. Stanley previously served as president and CEO of Questar’s largest subsidiary, Questar Market Resources, and also a Questar executive vice president and director. Alan K. Allred, president and CEO of the company’s utility subsidiary, Questar Gas, will retire later this year. Ronald W. Jibson has been promoted to executive vice president of Questar Gas and senior vice president of Questar Corp. In addition to his responsibilities as vice president – operations, Jibson will assume responsibility for the utility’s finance, accounting, regulatory, gas supply, and other staff functions.
PetroQuest Energy makes two officer promotions
PetroQuest Energy Inc. has promoted W. Todd Zehnder to executive vice president, CFO, and treasurer. Prior to his promotion, Zehnder served as vice president of corporate development and vice president of oil and gas marketing, as well as other positions including controller. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University. Michael O. Aldridge, the company’s previous executive vice president, CFO, and treasurer, has resigned from his positions to pursue other interests. Aldridge is expected to remain with the company as an employee to assist with transitional matters. J. Bond Clement has been promoted to senior vice president and CAO. Clement previously served as vice president of finance and controller. Clement earned a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University.
Wood Group Pressure Control names service director, operations manager for US
Wood Group Pressure Control, part of John Wood Group PLC, has appointed Will Denyko to US service director and Loren Boisvert to US operations manager. Prior to his four years at Pressure Control, Denyko worked for FMC. Boisvert has 14 years of industry experience, including his most recent role as vice president and general manager for Wood Group Pressure Control (Canada). Wood Group Pressure Control designs and manufactures wellhead systems, gate valves, chokes, and actuators that control formation pressures and product flow from initial drilling through production for oil companies around the world.
United Technologies exec joins BP board
The board of BP has appointed George David as a non-executive director of BP plc. David is the chairman and CEO of United Technologies Corp. He is also a non-executive director of Citigroup. He received his bachelor’s degree from Harvard and MBA from the University of Virginia.
