Enable Midstream names Sailor CFO

Rodney J. Sailor has been named executive vice president and CFO of Enable Midstream Partners LP. Sailor joined the company from Tulsa-based WPX Energy where he most recently served as senior vice president and CFO. He will be located in Oklahoma City. Prior to joining WPX, Sailor served as vice president and treasurer for The Williams Companies. Throughout his 27-year career at Williams, Sailor served in a variety of leadership positions focused on corporate finance, strategic planning and development, accounting and international finance. He holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Oklahoma State University. Enable Midstream is a joint venture formed in May 2013 that includes CenterPoint Energy Inc. interstate pipelines and field services businesses and the midstream business of Enogex LLC, a previous subsidiary of OGE Energy Corp. It is managed by a general partner whose governance is shared by CenterPoint Energy and OGE on a 50/50 basis.

Hill to Retire as VP at Marathon Oil

Howard J. Thill, vice president of Corporate, Government and Investor Relations, at Marathon Oil, has elected to retire effective April 1, 2014, following 12 years of service. Coincident with Thill's retirement and effective immediately, the Investor Relations function will move under the direction and leadership of J.R. Sult, Marathon Oil executive vice president and CFO. Chris Phillips, currently director of Investor Relations, will continue in his current role and will report to Sult. In addition, Marathon Oil's Corporate and Government Relations functions will be consolidated into a new organization called Corporate Communications, which will be under the direction of Sylvia J. Kerrigan, Marathon Oil executive vice president, general counsel and secretary. Paul Weeditz, currently general manager of Corporate Relations, will assume the new role of director, Corporate Communications, and will report to Kerrigan.

ARKeX Appoints New President

ARKeX has announced today that it has appointed Jim White as president. White previously in senior positions at WesternGeco, Trace Energy Services, Geokinetics, FT Seismic Support and most recently as president at Discovery Acquisition Services in Texas. White has extensive experience in managing oilfield service operations including land and marine seismic acquisition, data processing and multi-client data worldwide. He holds a bachelor's degree in geosciences from Pennsylvania State University and will join the ARKeX board.

WPX Controller, CAO to Serve as Interim CFO

WPX Energy has named Kevin Vann, currently the company's vice president, controller, and chief accounting officer, to serve as interim senior vice president and CFO following the resignation of Rod Sailor on March 31. Vann will also replace Sailor as director for Apco Oil and Gas International. Vann began his career with Arthur Andersen in Tulsa before coming to Williams in 1998. He held positions responsible for accounting and risk management. In 2006, he became Controller for the Exploration & Production business of Williams, which later spun off as independent company WPX Energy. He is a graduate of Oklahoma State University.

Industry Mourns Passing of Charles John Miller

Industry leader Charles John Miller, 82, of Marco Island, Florida, passed away on March 8, 2014. C. John was born in Paintsville, KY on September 20, 1931. In 1937 the Miller family moved to Allegan, MI, John's "hometown", where he graduated from Allegan High School, then served in the United States Navy. Miller spent his entire working career in the oil and gas industry, taking over his dad's drilling business in 1953 with his brothers. He co-managed Miller Brothers Oil Corp. alongside his brothers, and led consecutive companies, Miller Energy Co. in Kalamazoo, MI and Globex Energy Inc., in Houston, TX. From 1973-75 and again in 1979-81, Miller served as chairman of the Independent Petroleum Association of America. "He will be remembered and honored for his character and dedication to our industry. John's commitment went above and beyond his terms as chairman. We salute John and his family for their support to IPAA and our industry over the decades," IPAA president and CEO Barry Russell said in a statement. "Without John's strong defense of this industry, America would be more dependent on foreign oil today." Miller is survived by his wife Reva; son, Mike Miller (Pam); daughters, Cindy Cunningham (Craig), Sara Miller, and Sally Bufton (Bill); 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Janice Orr (Dale) and many nieces and nephews.

Azure Midstream Hires Kalamaras as CFO

Azure Midstream Energy LLC, a natural gas gathering and processing company based in Houston, has hired industry veteran Eric T. Kalamaras as CFO. Kalamaras most recently served as senior vice president and CFO for Valerus Energy Holdings LP. Prior to Valerus, he served as CFO for Delphi Midstream Partners which was subsequently sold to Williams Partners LP.

Johnson Appointed WRS President

Wellsite Rental Services LLC (WRS), a rental equipment provider for the drilling and production sectors of the oil and gas industry, has appointed Mark Johnson as president. Johnson joins Wellsite Rental Services with more than 34 years of experience in the oil and gas, domestic inspection and rental markets. Johnson recently held the position of president at CSI Inspection LLC.

Aztec Names Driver President

Aztec Oil & Gas Inc. has elected Jeremy G. Driver as president of the corporation to replace Fred Zeidman who has been serving as interim president subsequent to the termination of the previous president by Aztec's board. Driver served as president of HYD Resources Corp. and then as CEO, president and director of Duma Energy Corp. from 2009 to 2014. Driver has an undergraduate degree from Excelsior College and an MBA and MSA from Northeastern University.

RSI Appoints Christie VP, North America

Murray Christie has joined RSI as vice president, North America, based in Houston. Prior to joining RSI, Murray was president of Ikon Science Americas. RSI is an independent geoscience consulting firm offering quantitative reservoir characterization with the goal of reducing exploration drilling risk and optimizing reservoir appraisal and development plans.

FTTN Appoints New CEO

First Titan Corp. has named G. Jonathan Piña as the company's new president and CEO. Piña, who has served as a consultant to FTTN since 2013, was the managing partner and co-founder of Pimuro Capital Partners, a financial advisory firm serving small cap energy companies. He was also previously the CFO at Circle Star Energy Corp. from 2011-2013. Piña also served as a consultant/project manager at Jefferies, and was founder/consultant at GJP Consulting. He earned his bachelor's degree from Rice University and his MBA from the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management at Rice University. Piña succeeds Robert Federowicz as First Titan Corp., president and CEO. Federowicz is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities.

Balombin Joins Wells Fargo Securities

Tim Balombin has joined Wells Fargo Securities, the capital markets and investment banking business of Wells Fargo & Company, as managing director in the mergers and acquisitions practice of the Investment Banking and Capital Markets Group. Based in Houston, Balombin will focus primarily on the upstream oil and gas sector. He will report to Hugh Babowal, head of the Energy and Power M&A Group. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Balombin was employed at RBC Capital Markets in its M&A team, focused on the energy, power and utilities sectors. Previous to his career in investment banking, he practiced law at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. He received his Juris Doctorate at the University of Denver Law School, his Masters of Business Administration from Baylor University, and his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin.

Consol Makes Executive Appointments

CONSOL Energy Inc. has named J. Brett Harvey, the company's chairman and CEO, to the position of executive chairman. Nicholas J. DeIuliis, president, will become president and CEO. DeIuliis has also been nominated for election to the board of directors. These executive management changes will become effective immediately after CONSOL Energy's annual meeting of shareholders on May 7. Harvey has served as CEO since January 1998. DeIuliis has served as president of CONSOL Energy since February 2011, and has over 23 years with the company, including in the positions of COO and senior vice president of strategic planning.

Lime Rock Resources Promotes Three

Lime Rock Resources has made three promotions: Tim Miller is now executive vice president of operations and COO; Chris Butta is now senior vice president of engineering and chief engineer; and Morrow Evans is now senior vice president of finance and CFO. Butta and Miller have been with the Lime Rock Resources team since its inception in 2005, and Evans joined the team in 2009. Through three private Lime Rock Resources funds and LRR Energy, the Lime Rock Resources team acquires, operates, and improves producing oil and gas properties in the US.
