– ExxonMobil Corp. is planning an exploration program in Block CPE-3 that covers 6.4 million acres in a remote and unexplored area of Colombia’s eastern Llanos basin.

The program is to consist of shooting 2D seismic and drilling stratigraphic core holes on the block on trend with the Orinoco heavy oil belt to the northeast in Venezuela (OGJ, Feb. 8, 2010, p. 16).
