Linc Energy Ltd., Brisbane, said its Alaska subsidiary acquired 122,000 acres of state and Alaskan Mental Health Trust oil and gas leases in the Cook Inlet basin from GeoPetro Alaska LLC.

HOUSTON, July 14 – Linc Energy Ltd., Brisbane, said its Alaska subsidiary acquired 122,000 acres of state and Alaskan Mental Health Trust oil and gas leases in the Cook Inlet basin from GeoPetro Alaska LLC.

Linc Energy (Alaska) expects to spud its first gas well by late September 2010. The company intends to secure short-term revenue opportunities from its traditional oil and gas prospects while it pursues underground coal gasification opportunities.
