-- McMoRan Exploration Co., New Orleans, said gamma ray and resistivity information from log-while-drilling tools at its Blueberry Hill-9 Sidetrack 1 well in the Gulf of Mexico off Louisiana indicate a possible hydrocarbon-bearing zone in a high-quality sand 105 ft thick. Drilled depth is 23,630 ft.

Wireline logs are required to fully evaluate the section. McMoRan continued drilling at the well, in 10 ft of water on Louisiana State Lease 340.
