HOUSTON, Aug. 11
-- Gastar Exploration Ltd., Houston, said its 100%-owned Streater-1 exploration well in southwestern Leon County, Tex., went to a TD of 17,800 ft and cut 83 net ft of pay in the Middle Bossier and Upper Bossier formations.

Gastar plans to complete the well in three initial zones and expects the first of the three initial completions to be online by the end of September. Well cost including the three completions is put at $9 million.

Based on the completion results, Gastar will consider drilling more Middle Bossier wells and evaluate the potential for horizontal wells in the Upper Bossier.
