HOUSTON, Aug. 25
-- Marathon Oil Co. has let a lump-sum contract to Technip for the development of Ozona field in the Gulf of Mexico. The project consists of the tie-in of a well on Garden Banks Block 515 in 3,280 ft of water to the Shell Auger platform.

The contract covers project management and surveys; engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation of a 9-km pipe-in-pipe flowline, two pipeline end terminations, an anchor pile, and a rigid jumper; and installation of a 12-km umbilical.

Technip’s operating center in Houston will execute this contract. The flowline will be welded at the group’s Spoolbase in Mobile, Ala. Offshore installation is scheduled to be completed by Technips deepwater pipelay vessel, the Deep Blue in second-quarter 2010.
