Total SA is part of a group that has created what it says is one of the five largest centers in the world dedicated to research in new-generation photovoltaic systems.

Based at the Paris Saclay campus, the Institut Photovoltaique d’Ile-de-France will assemble almost 180 researchers, lecturers, and students and “be a driver for national and European policies on the development of renewable energies,” Total says.

Others in the group are EDF, French National Center for Scientific Research, and Ecole Polytechnique, associated with Air Liquide, Horiba Jobin Yvon, and Riber.
