HOUSTON, May 21 -- Kværner Group, London, said Monday it plans to acquire design, engineering, and project management company Enercon Engineering Inc., Houston, for $13-15 million.
The final price depends on financial results achieved from 2001 to 2005. Enercon focuses on Gulf of Mexico deepwater projects.
Kværner Oil & Gas Field Development Chief Executive Jan T. Jorgensen said the acquisition "will significantly strengthen Kværner's relationship with companies operating in the global deepwater market out of Houston."
Enercon Engineering has completed more than 150 projects with more than 50% of them involving the Gulf of Mexico.
The offices of Kværner Oil & Gas in Houston and Enercon Engineering will be merged into one organization.
Together with Kværner's other engineering resources in Houston, Kværner will have 700 engineers in the region and another 400 people employed in Kværner Oilfield Products fabrication activities.
