HOUSTON, July 17 -- Clough Engineering Ltd., Perth, has acquired Crest Engineers Australia Pty. Ltd., also of Perth, saying the acquisition will bolster its capacity in the engineering, contracting, and construction sector.
The Clough group will own 75% of new company Crest Clough Engineers Pty. Ltd., which will begin operations Aug. 1.
Sue Murphy, Clough Engineering director of resources and technology, said, "The Clough group is enjoying healthy growth in demand for services and the availability of new work in the marketplace, but this has started to place strains on resources -- particularly in the area of growing our bank of high-quality engineering staff. Crest will be an important step forward in providing the group with increased capabilities."
Crest, an engineering design consultancy and commissioning company, primarily works in the oil, gas, and minerals industries in Australia and Asia.
Crest Managing Director Alan Croxson said Crest Clough Engineers' focus will remain on engineering and commissioning. "We will also dovetail into Clough's renewed thrust into operations and maintenance sector."
