Dover Operating Corp., Calgary, which is developing two large thermal oil sands projects near Fort McMurray, Alta., has changed its name to Brion Energy.
The company, a joint venture of PetroChina Co. and Athabasca Oil Corp., has regulatory approval to produce a total of 150,000 b/d of bitumen via steam-assisted gravity drainage from its MacKay River and Dover projects.
Brion plans eventually to produce as much as 150,000 b/d from MacKay River and 250,000 b/d from Dover.
