HOUSTON, Feb. 3 -- El Paso Corp.'s ANR gas pipeline registered a loss of pressure near Viola, Ill., Sunday night, and a fire was reported, but no injuries resulted and service remained uninterrupted by the company's use of a loop line, an ANR spokesman said.

The investigation continued Monday. Cause of the incident was unknown, the spokesman said.

A loss of pressure was reported at 7 p.m., and by 8:05 p.m. Sunday, the gas flow to that section of 24-in. Southwest Mainline had been stopped, he added.
