Riggs named Clayton Williams Energy president

Mel G. Riggs has been named president of Clayton Williams Energy Inc., Midland, succeeding Clayton W. Williams Jr., who remains chairman and chief executive officer.

Riggs has worked with the company more than 30 years. Since 2010 he has been executive vice-president and chief operating officer.
