Agip SpA, the upstream unit of Italy's ENI group, said its HBNN-2 well confirms a Ghadames basin discovery named Hassi Berkine North. HBNN-2 produced 12,000 b/d of 42° gravity oil on early tests. Agip SpA, the upstream unit of Italy's ENI group, said its HBNN-2 well confirms a Ghadames basin discovery named Hassi Berkine North. HBNN-2 produced 12,000 b/d of 42° gravity oil on early tests.

Agip opened the field last year at HBNN-1 on Block 403a in the Sahara 700 km southeast of Algiers.

On the same block, Agip, in partnership with Algeria's Sonatrach, has made seven discoveries. Three, Bir Rebaa North, West, and Southwest, are producing 50,000 b/d of oil. Agip plans to hike production.

Agip made another recent discovery on Block 403a, Bir Rebaa Southeast. The BRSE-1, drilled to 3,000 m, flowed 10,000 b/d on early tests.

Agip will expand its exploratory campaign on Block 403 and will soon begin exploring 591 sq km Wadi el Teh Block 440, awarded last June (OGJ, Aug. 26, 1996, p. 24).

Blocks 403 and 440 are north and south, respectively, of the Anadarko Petroleum Corp. group's highly successful Block 404.

Colombia

Garnet Resources Corp., Houston, increased gross production from its four Colombian fields to about 12,000 b/d of oil.

The Toroyaco 4 well made 2,869 b/d of 29° gravity oil from commingled Cretaceous Villeta U and T sands on an electric submersible pump after frac. And the Linda 4 well made 1,501 b/d of 29° gravity oil from Villeta U on a hydraulic jet pump after frac.

Garnet is processing 3D seismic data acquired over Mary and Miraflor oil fields.
