ACT GROUP TESTS 15,000 B/D STRIKE OFF CHINA

ACT Operators Group has tested oil and is completing operations in the Huizhou 32-2-1 wildcat in Contract Area 16/08 off China in the South China Sea. The strike flowed oil from four main zones at a combined rate of 15,000 b/d of 27-36 oil. Results of tests and other well data are being evaluated to determine the potential of the structure. ACT Operators Group has tested oil and is completing operations in the Huizhou 32-2-1 wildcat in Contract Area 16/08 off China in the South China Sea.

The strike flowed oil from four main zones at a combined rate of 15,000 b/d of 27-36 oil.

Results of tests and other well data are being evaluated to determine the potential of the structure.

Site is 6 miles west of ACT's Huizhou 26-1 oil field, scheduled to begin commercial production later this year, and 20 miles southwest of ACT's Huizhou 21-1 oil field, which began commercial production last September.

Contract Area 16/08 lies in the Pearl River Mouth basin, about 170 miles southeast of Guangzhou (Canton). The contract area currently covers about 443,000 acres.

ACT is a combine of Agip (Overseas) Ltd., Chevron Overseas Petroleum Ltd., and Texaco Petroleum Mij. (Nederland) BV. Each company owns a one-third interest.

ACT is working in cooperation with Nanhai East Oil Corp., a branch of China National Offshore Oil Corp.
