AMOCO STARTS DELIVERIES VIA KERN RIVER
Units of Amoco Corp. have begun deliveries of almost 120 MMcfd of natural gas from Wyoming to enhanced oil recovery and cogeneration customers in southern California via the Kern River Gas Transmission Co.
The $934 million, 904 mile, 700 MMcfd pipeline from Opal, Wyo., to California started operations last month (OGJ, Feb. 24, p. 33). A joint venture of Tenneco Inc. and Williams Cos., the Kern River line joins Mojave Pipeline Co.'s system at Daggett, Calif., where both share a 1.1 bcfd capacity line into Kern County, Calif.
AMOCO GAS SALES
Amoco Production Co. and Amoco Energy Trading Corp. began deliveries Mar. 1 to:
- Shell Western E&P Inc. EOR operations, 75 MMcfd.
- Midway-Sunset Cogeneration Co., a partnership of ARCO Oil & Gas Co. and Southern California Edison Corp.'s Mission Energy Co. (MEC) unit that supports ARCO's thermal EOR operations in the San Joaquin Valley, 15 MMcfd.
- Watson Cogeneration Co., a partnership of ARCO Products Co. and MEC operating a cogeneration plant at ARCO's Carson refinery in Los Angeles, 10 MMcfd.
- Santa Fe Energy Resources Inc. EOR operations, 10 MMcfd.
- ARCO Oil & Gas EOR operations, 7.5 MMcfd.
Contract terms are 2-15 years. Together with sales of 7.5 MMcfd of gas delivered to customers in Utah and Nevada, volume of gas delivered from Amoco fields in Wyoming on the Kern River line totals 125 MMcfd.
