ConocoPhillips names new president of Asia Pacific E&P unit

HOUSTON, Apr. 3 -- Ryan Lance has been named president, Asia Pacific, exploration and production for ConocoPhillips. Currently, Lance serves as vice-president, Lower 48.
Lance succeeds Bill Berry, who was named executive vice-president, E&P, at the start of the year.
In his new position, Lance will oversee the oil major's operations in Indonesia, Australia, China, and Viet Nam, as well as growth and new business development opportunities throughout Asia and Australia.
Lance started his career with ARCO in 1984, and held a number of engineering and operations positions in Alaska, California, and Texas. In 1998, he was appointed vice-president, Western North Slope, for ARCO Alaska Inc. After the then-Phillips Petroleum Co. acquisition of ARCO, Lance was appointed general manager, Lower 48 and Canada, for Phillips. He then became vice-president, Lower 48, following the merger of Conoco Inc. and Phillips in 2002.
